    Abstract
Also it was found that the basketball players were moderately compliant with this dietary model. SUDA mean value was 38.48±7.61 in men, 40.76±8.28 in women and basketball players were found to have moderate and poor sleep quality, respectively. No statistically significant relationship could be detected between MEDAS and SUDA average values in basketball players (r=0.02; p>0.05). Considering the MEDAS and SUDA average scores, it has been determined that female basketball players' adaptation to the Mediterranean diet and their sleep quality are worse than male basketball players. According to the total scores obtained as a result of the Mediterranean diet model; it was concluded that nutritional intake of basketball players in both genders should be corrected. More studies are needed to evaluate the relationship between the Mediterranean diet and sleep status in athletes.
